We can offer our GOLD HOST service for such a low price by having our GOLD HOST clients work with us to keep our administrative costs low as well as by enforcing "good neighbors". Here are the details.

Billing

AKA Systems will invoice you either on a 6 month or yearly basis. Your account must be paid in full prior to the start of the billing period or we reserve the right to suspend access until paid. All setup fees must be paid in full with the first invoice.

Account Whacking

AKA Systems reserves the right to 'whack your account' if you violate any of the terms of this agreement. If you're whacked by AKA Systems, your account is immediately disabled and you agree to that you forfeit all prepaid monies and may be liable for any penalties assessed to AKA Systems for your behavior. You have to be REALLY bad for this to happen.

Reasons for Whacking

Here's what you can't do. If you do any of these, you're a bad neighbor and AKA SYSTEMS can whack your account. if you want to do something and you think its a gray area, email us first and we'll be glad to tell you.

Spamming

Absolutely no spamming allowed by any means: email, newsgroup postings, etc. Any client caught spamming will be immediately terminated and forfeit all prepaid moneys. Spammers can be reported to abuse@akasystems.com.

Hacking/Denial-of-service/etc

We do not like it when script kiddies try to attack any of our servers. We absolutely prohibit anyone using our servers or any of our resources to attack any other internet resource or server. We co-operate with all authorities fully

Illegal Material or Copyright Infringement

You are not permitted to use any of our resources for serving illegal, defamatory, or copyrighted material which you are not legally allowed to possess and distribute. No pirated MP3's, software, etc.

Adult Content

We are not the moral police. Legal adult content is permitted as long as it is not in violation of copyright, local, regional, state, or federal law or otherwise prohibited by us. Any content mentioning, referring to, displaying, or insinuating rape, incest, or under-18 participants is prohibited. Any content which we find offensive is prohibited.

Termination by client

Your GOLD HOST account can be closed at any time by simply emailing support@akasystems.com. As long as you are not whacked by AKA Systems for violation of the terms of agreement, AKA Systems will return all prepaid monthly charges, prorated on a monthly basis. Setup charges and fees such as excessive bandwidth usage, will be deducted first.

Setup Fees

There are no fees charged by AKA SYSTEMS for setting up your GOLD HOST account. HOWEVER, if we are charged fees by other organizations when establishing the account, we will pass these fees on to the client. Example fee's passed on to the client would be domain registration fees or security certificate fees.

Excess Bandwidth Usage

You will be provided with the physical disc space and transfer allowance noted on the GOLD HOST page. If you transfer more than your allotted bandwidth, you will be billed $10 for every 3gb or portion thereof you use. This will be billed monthly and is due in full upon receipt. We will make exceptions to this at our discretion in cases such as hacking or if we're just in a good mood. The transfer allowance does NOT include FTP transfers to or from your website.

Multiple Domains Per Account

Your GOLD HOST account includes a single domain and IP address. If you have small web sites, you will likely use only a portion of your disc space and monthly transfer allowance. AKA Systems permits you to take advantage of this by allowing multiple domains under a single GOLD HOST account. This becomes very economical for you.

You can add additional domains to your GOLD HOST account for $5 monthly. You do not get any additional server resources (no additional disc space, transfer allowance, or email boxes) for your $5, but you can host several named domains this way very economically.

Email

GOLD HOST sites have access to standard Internet POP3 servers for mail. This means your favorite email program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, etc.) will work fine and be able to access email sent to GOLD HOST mailboxes.

In addition, free of charge, GOLD HOST mailboxes can be accessed through any standard web browser. This means you can check your email while at a friends house, while traveling, or anywhere you have access to the internet. You don't even need to use an e-mail program such as OUTLOOK if you do not want to.

Custom Configurations

If you do not see it offered, ASK. We do not nickel and dime our clients. We want you to be happy with your web hosting. If there is a feature or option you would like to see offered, email us and we'll work up something for you.

Web Site Back-up

You are responsible for backup up your web site contents. AKA Systems does not provide this service nor are we responsible for your loss should the server need to be restored.

Web site Statistics

Included in your GOLD HOST are complete web site statistics. You have complete access to your 'raw' log files which means you can copy them to your own computer and process them with any program you wish to use. If you do not have a logfile analyzer, GOLD HOST web sites have their log files processed each night for your convenience. Each day, you can easily check how your site did for the previous day as well as for the previous 7 days. We use ANALOG and you have the ability to customize your reports however you desire.
