As Information Services Director, Alan joined Amerigroup Corporation as a startup with
under 20 employees. His technological leadership established the framework used by the
company as it transitioned from a startup to one with offices throughout the U.S., now
covering hundreds of thousands of lives.
Alan oversaw all technical aspects of this corporation including:
- a nationwide, integrated data and voice network
- the establishment of the call center for servicing members
- implementation of complex data warehousing for more efficient management
Senior Systems Consultant, Priority Health Care
Hampton Roads base HMO
Joining an HMO with under 20 employees, Alan established the technology center
to operate the HMO. This included establishing the data network and mainframe environments
as well as network and operations planning.

As a consultant for Metro Information Services, Alan was responsible for being able
to quickly step into or lead a project brought to Metro by a client.
BOSS/3000 Product Manager, SATCOM
Integrated Product Manager
As product manager for BOSS/3000, Alan was completely responsible for product life-cycle.
This included the programming and analysis teams, as well as customer support and service. Used
by companies such as Union Carbide, RCA, and Northern Telecon, BOSS/3000 was a critical piece
of operational software. Besides responsibility for core product enhancements, Alan would
work with clients to provide specialized solutions to help them meet their business needs.
